The remains of the artist's father, also known as Ricardo Arjona, will be veiled in a cemetery chapel Flowers of the capital, where they would be buried on Tuesday afternoon.
"Ricardo is greatly affected just like us, he is a good son, good brother, a good human being," he told journalists Veronica Arjona, sister of the singer.
He explained that the balladeer, who lives in Mexico, arrived in Guatemala to attend the funeral, which will be "very private and family life.
The Arjona's father was born in 1932 in the Indian town of Tecpan Guatemala, 90 km west of the capital, where the Spanish settled the first colonial city in the country in the sixteenth century.
He was a teacher of elementary education and in the 1960's lived with his family in Jocotenango, Sacatepéquez department, adjacent to the tourist Antigua Guatemala, Guatemalan singer-songwriter was born there in 1964.
The singer has had a successful career with songs like Women, Lady of the four decades, History of taxi, if the north south and Jesus was not substantive verb, among others.
His most recent album Poquita clothing tops the list as best seller in Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
